Open Evening 2010

Open evening on 13th July was a great success with around 150 families visiting the school despite the grey and cool weather.

Visitors heard from speakers including our current Head and Deputy Head Boys and Girls, who told the audience what a wonderful five years they had had at Sale High. Head Girl Freya Dew said she was proud to tell them how much she had enjoyed her time at the school.

Headteacher Mrs Nicholls welcomed the visitors and spoke passionately about her vision for the school, then Deputy Headteacher Mrs Chapple outlined the school’s approach to teaching and learning. Parent Governor Mrs Barratt added a parent’s perspective on the school and then Assistant Headteacher Mr Fox introduced the student tour guides who had volunteered to take visitors around the school.

Displays and presentations were put on in science, maths, ICT, technology, expressive arts and included our new food technology room and science labs. Facilities for student support were also profiled, along with our exciting plans for a new learning resource centre to be opened in January.

If you missed our open evening but would like to see the school and meet some of the staff, please phone the school on 0161 973 2713 and ask for the headteacher’s PA Mrs Stead to make an appointment.
