Radio Lancashire DJ Dave “Swanny” Swanton brought some of the magic of radio to Sale High School on Friday 28th May, when he met a group of budding broadcasters for a training session.
Sale High School is launching its very own radio station, Sale High Soundz, on 87.7FM, on 14th June for a week, and Dave came along beforehand to give our student DJs a few tips of the trade. He shared some of the things he’s learned over the years as the host of the long-running “Sounds Like Saturday Night” show on Radio Lancashire.
Dave is also Head of Media for Sale Sharks, so as well as tips on radio broadcasting, he had some inside stories for the students on life at the world-famous rugby club.
Mr Fox, Assistant Headteacher and Director of Specialism, said: “We are really keen that the week’s broadcasting by Sale High Soundz goes smoothly and are sure that Dave’s training session will help - our students really enjoyed learning some tips from the expert!”
