Key Stage 3
In years 7-9 (Key Stage 3), students follow a common course based on the National Curriculum. The school organises students into two broad bands for teaching. Lessons occupy the DCSF-recommended 25 hours per week.
Key Stage 4
In years 10-11 (Key Stage 4), students are prepared for GCSEs and/or vocational qualifications. Students follow a core curriculum of English, maths, technology, science, ICT, physical education, careers, sex education and citizenship, as well as additional subjects which are agreed in consultation with them and their parents.
Facilities
The library and resource centre is open before school, at lunch time and after school. There are specialist facilities and rooms for ICT, science, technology, ceramics, drama, languages and music.
Homework
The school has a well-defined homework policy, and is committed to setting homework as part of the learning process. Homework helps to develop good learning habits in preparation for GCSE and further education. We value the support of parents in ensuring homework is completed on time.
